How Design Found Me

Design found me slowly. I taught myself through experience, travel, mistakes, and learning by doing. Over time, design became my full-time work, shaped not by trends, but by the places I explored and the people I met.

Travel has always been a part of who I am. As I moved through different regions, I began to see how difficult life can be for artisans — people with incredible skill and patience, yet limited opportunities to grow, to be seen, or to be valued fairly.

That understanding changed my journey.

My personal growth became connected with the growth of artisans. What started as a self-taught path turned into a shared purpose — working with local makers, preserving traditional craftsmanship, and creating space for their stories in the modern world.

We come from a culture where opportunities for women are not always equal to those available to men. Rawuf exists to gently change that reality — by creating safe and respectful work environments, valuing skill over gender, and allowing women to grow through their craft.
